East Hanover

Overview

East Hanover is a town located in Morris County. With a population of roughly 12,000 people. A quite small town in Northern New Jersey, the name “Hanover” was adopted by the actual township of Hanover in the the early 1700’s. It comes from the honoring of King George I of the German Dynastic House Of Hanover. There are two boundaries of East Hanover, split by two rivers, the Whippany River and the Passaic River. The town was officially made a town in the late 1920’s.

Arts and Entertainment

The Funplex is located right off of route 10, open year round the Funplex is a great place to bring your kids or have a corporate outing. With over 100 arcade games, an indoor track for go carting, indoor carnival rides, bumper cars, and even a private section of the Funplex is for the new lazer tag. If you are around when the sun starts to get hot, there are over 6 slides, and a full outdoor water park located behind the Funplex. Open seven days a week and affordable and fun for all ages.

If its just a rainy day or a day that you want to go see a movie, located right off of route 10, AMC Loews theater is is open seven days a week, with more than ten theaters and showing movies from the morning all the way until the late night.

If you are looking for a place to bring your kids and to have a birthday party, also located off of route 10, Chuck E Cheese is the place to be. With not only arcade games but also a food court, the free wifi is great for families that need to get some work done and also be able to bring there kids to a place that have fun games.

Located next to the Chuck E Cheese, Hanover Lanes is a great time for people who love to bowl, or just have a good time with friends or family. They have a variety of bowling teams, leagues, and open free lanes for all ages. One fun thing that they have is one weekends, usually Friday nights, they have lazer lights glow in the dark bowling.

One of the best places to be in East Hanover if you are looking for a place to eat, is route 10, you can have a sit down nice mean, or you can grab a quick bite to eat. If you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine Don Jose is a great choice. If you want a nice Italian dinner The Godfather has the authentic touch of Italy right in East Hanover. If you are looking for something quick to pick up and go, East Hanover has a variety, ranging from Chipotle, Friday’s, Applebees, Chilis or if you want a quick personal pie, the new pizza restaurant Uncle Madios has now opened, right next to Jersey Mikes Subs. No matter where you go on route 10 in East Hanover, you will not go hungry.

Shopping

There are all kinds of shops located on route 10 in East Hanover, if you want to go shopping for home entertainment, there is a Best Buy, If you would like to go buy home furniture, there is a bed bath a beyond, if you are looking for baby cloths, you can head to babies R us, if you are looking for sports equipment, there is a dicks. If you want more clothing stores, East Hanover is only minutes from the Livingston Mall and only about ten minutes from the Short Hills mall.

Transportation

If you would like to get on a bus from East Hanover to New York there is the #77 Bus Line from Ridgedale and Eagle Rock ave in East Hanover. Only travels on weekdays, four times a day.

East Hanover is only minutes from the private Morristown airport. If you want to fly out of a non private airport, Newark Airport is only 25 minutes away from East Hanover.

There are two train stations that are located within ten minutes of East Hanover, you have the Morristown train station, and the Madison train station.
